Hey my gorgeous ladies, Makeup is the biggest part of our life and we try to keep our followers updated with the new trends and techniques in the beauty world. We bring certified makeup artists to guide you with the best. Today we have Khadija Chagani who is an internationally certified makeup artist from London College of Makeup with other extensive and short courses done with Natasha Khalid of Natasha’s Salon, Furqan of Furqan’s Studio, Mac Cosmetics and Mario Dedivanovic.

NM: Khadija tell us about, how did you get into this field?

KC: This field was just my sheer luck. I was managing the marketing department at Pivot Point Pakistan when Mrs. Daulat Rahimtoolah saw the scope I have and pushed me further to practice it, giving me my first editorial shoot for Maheen Karim with Mansha Pasha, followed by a shoot my best friend entrusted me with which was with Urwa Hocane for OK! Pakistan. After that nothing has been the same.

NM: Starting from the core step: PRIMERS: Your recommendation of primers for an acne pored skin?

KC: The best of the best primer in the market is Smashbox Photo Finish! Another great choice can be Benefit Porefessional. Both of them work great for generally all skin types be it dry, combination, oily or even sensitive.

NM: Let us know how ladies with wrinkles, acne and freckles deal with their foundation base?

KC: Anybody with wrinkles should buy an anti aging serum and the best would be liquid foundations for them because cream foundations will settle in wrinkles badly. As for acne prone skin, one should concentrate on clearing out their skin first and go for mattifying liquid foundations because mostly such skins fall under oily to combination tones and for them, the concern is to keep the excess oil off and reduce more breakouts. Freckles on the other hand should be first hidden with an orange corrector followed by a concealer (cream preferably) followed by a light to medium coverage foundation.

NM: What lip colours a tanned/darker toned girl should wear to complicate their complexion?

KC: Honestly, there are no restrictions! We all want to wear that bright red and vampy shades that are in these days but we are too scared to step out of our comfort zones. For reds; Sephora Lip Stain in 01, Mac Ruby woo and Color Studios Predator; for Purple/ plums: Color Studio Venom; for maroon/ deep red; Color Pop in Avenue, Makeup Revolutions WoW in the shade Maria; for nudes/ taupes; Mac Mocha, Mac Taupe, Mac Mehr, Luscious Cosmetics in A La Mode; for Orange; Color Studio in Striptease.

NM: Which eyelash brand you would prefer? which have the best styles in regard of natural and dramatic looks both?

KC: My favorite these days have been The Lash Bar lashes! One of the most comfortable lash bands and re-usable with great quality lashes that amplify your look. You can choose your styles from a basic “Twiggy” to a dramatic “Scandalous” They have various styles to choose from. Other great options are Ardell Demi Wispies and House of Lashes.

NM: What are the major mistakes women should avoid while they get dolled up?

KC: Please don’t go for looking super fair! Be yourself and embrace your complexion! People normally tend to go 3-4 tones fairer and end up looking gray. Also, eye brows are really important, we should really invest in good brow products. One important thing to understand is that if your skin does not need lots of product, use minimal. A little goes a long way 🙂

NM: Brushes are the most important factor if you need to get your makeup on point, According to you which brushes brand you prefer?

KC: My favorite brush brand has to be Morphe! Morphe is easy on the pocket with great quality brushes. Sephora and Makeup Revolution have really good brush sets too.

NM: How important lip contouring is?

KC: It is on occasions when you have parties or weddings but on regular days, it is not a ritual for me 🙂

NM: Your recommendation of BB creams according to ageing, oily and dry skin?

KC: I am personally not at all a fan of BB creams since I feel they don’t do much but I have had students who use Maybelline BB creams and they swear by it!

NM: Almost all brands are coming up with their Holiday collection. Which collection grabbed your attention?

KC: Mac and their absolutely gorgeous Pigment sets in their holiday collection. They are a real investment! Also, don’t forget to bag on Tarte and Color pop holiday sets.

NM: Winters give us some hard time regarding dry skins, leaving dry patches and much more complications. Let us know your winter skin care routine?

KC: In winter I make sure to spray some Mario Badescu facial spray or apply a nice moisturizer before I apply any makeup. Before going to bed, I make sure I wipe everything off my face and apply my Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery serum with Philosophy’s under eye cream!

NM: We all crave to learn more and more from a talented makeup artist like you please tell our followers, When is your next masterclass scheduled?

KC: We are planning our next masterclass in collaboration with Vogue Amour right after Eid – ul – Fitr which is 2nd July 2017 and I am so excited for this one.
