We all know that Tarte Shape Tape Concealer has a massive liking and is marked the Best Selling Concealer in America. Is there a makeup tutorial without using the Shape Tape concealer for the look? We guess not! We all cannot help but rave about its consistency, its coverage, and staying-power. Right?
But here’s a concealer that will replace your current favorite…
TOO FACED – Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Concealer
Value – $29
The most significant thing you’ll notice is that this concealer has a HUGE bottle, unlike any concealer bottle you’ll find in your makeup collection. Each contains 15ml of product, which is 5ml more than the product Shape Tape contains. Shape tape retails for $27, so basically it is cheaper but paying those 2 dollars extra will get you 50% more product.
Too Faced is always known to rock its packaging. The design of this concealer matches the theme of their Born This Way range perfectly, same black top, gold details and the same lettering. The packaging is plastic, with a frosted bottom that gives it an absolute luxe feel.
The applicator is as beefy as the Tarte Shape Tape’s, basically larger than the standard doe-foot. Too faced has an unique Diamond doe-foot that allows more flexibility with the application. You can use the pointed edge for precision and the flat side to cover large areas.
Just another impressive quality of this concealer is that it offers 20 shades, which is 6 more than Shape Tape’s color range. This concealer offers more shade options for deeper skin tones, which isn’t seen in the shade ranges of other concealers. The shades cater to multiple undertones and everyone should be able to find a workable shade to suit their skin tone.
Formula and Performance – here’s the REAL talk
Same like Shape Tape, the Born This Way concealer has CRAZY pigmentation. Just a small amount can cover all your imperfections, from dark circles to other blemishes. However, the Born This Way concealer spreads and blends easily, it doesn’t dry out too soon unlike the Shape Tape.
Neither does it settle in the pores or fine lines, as it isn’t completely matte. It gives a dewy finish, more like the Tarte Creaseless one but, it doesn’t look way too oily as that. It you’ve dry skin, we would suggest you to set it with a powder. Or else, the finish of this concealer is simply to die for, you can rock the dewy finish without having the fear of it creasing!
Summing up thoughts
Overall, there are a very few bad reviews of this concealer, you can check YouTube, the beauty bloggers seem to love it! At the price of $29, you’re getting a promised quantity of 15ml which we all know will go a looooooong way. The shade range is vast, caters too all shade ranges from fair to deep skin tones. However, most importantly, the product delivers what it promised to: full coverage, minimal creasing and sleek packaging.
If you’re tired of your Shape Tape creasing (which almost all of us are), you NEED to try this concealer out! You don’t have to worry about setting it, this can work best for all skin types and will not make your dry patches more obvious, unlike the Shape Tape concealer.
